Ashanti Shequoiya, also known as Ashanti was born on October 13, 1981 in Glen Cove New York United States. Ashanti is an United States singer, songwriter and actor. Ashanti was famous when she was an teen. The year 2002 was when she was signed to Murder Inc. Records. In the same year, she made an appearance on The Fat Joe's What's Luv? the song "What's the Love?" by Fat Joe and Ja Rule, entitled Always on Time was a huge hit for both of them. In the case of Foolish and The What's Luv at Number One, she became the first female artist to be featured in two tracks that were in the Billboard Hot 100 chart top Ten from the United States. The first female artist to hold both of the top two spots on The Billboard Hot 100 list in the United States, with Foolish at number one and What's Love? Let's celebrate the special occasion by celebrating it together. Ashanti Shequoiya, better known by her nickname Ashanti is a New Yorker born in Glen Cove on 13 October, 1980. Tina Douglas' mother was a dance instructor as was Ken-Kaide Douglas. The parent of Ashanti Douglas had been a vocalist. She is the oldest and Kenashia Shia Douglas is her younger sister. Douglas named Ashanti Douglas from Ghana following the Ashanti Empire. Women had enormous power and Douglas was hoping that Ashantis would follow in the footsteps of those. James' grandfather worked for Martin Luther King Jr. as a civil rights advocate during the 1960s. The mother of Ashanti's discovered the talent of her daughter after hearing her sing Mary J. Blige's Reminisce. Ashanti appeared in Spike Lee's Malcolm X (1992) and Ted Demme's Who's the Man? as a young extra. There were a few appearances by her appeared in music video clip including K.R.S. Act One's MC's Like They Do Not Know as well as 8 Off's Ghetto Woman. Even after she was approached by various label owners such as Bad Boy or Jive, Ashanti had trouble finding success as an artist. Amid this struggle, Ashanti was a performer on stage in New York. At the Murder Inc. Studio she stood around hoping for an opportunity to break through. Ashanti was featured on the first time on Big Pun's track"How We Roll, as a back vocalist. Ashanti sang on the track of Fat Joe,"What's Luv?" Ja Rule's Always on Time and Fat Joe's Where is Love. She sampled DeBarge's 1983 single Stay With Me on her debut single Foolish. Her self-titled album first released in 2002 on Irv Gotti's Murder Inc. record label. The Declaration was Ashanti's fourth studio album, which was made available on the 3rd of June in 2008. On the 16th of October Hey Baby (After the Club) was released on stations and digital platforms. The actress starred in the movie Christmas in the City and played Latasha Montclair on Army Wives. The song she sang Rock wit U was sampled by British artist Aitch for his song Baby in March 10, 2022.
